Description
19th century pair of silver salts of circular form engraved with a crest with a cartouche and raised on three shell capped hoof feet. Inset with blue glass liners. Decorated with foliage and flower design. Hallmarked London 1819 to the underside.
Makers mark Joseph Angell.
Jospeh Angell originally a firm of manufacturing silversmiths, the Angell family business became one of the largest and most important silver and jewellery manufacturers and retailers in London in the mid 19th century.
Very good condition - one glass liner is cracked.
