Description

An Impressive Rare Large Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Loving Cup or Tyg of Fine Quality. This Three Handled Cup of Round Tapering Form with Stepped Spreading Foot. It is Beautifully Etched with a Very Unusual Continuous Scene of the Adventures of Robinson Crusoe. Depicting Him Holding a Gun and Umbrella, Finding a Footprint, and Building a Boat. An Identical Loving Cup was Exhibited at the Melbourne International Exhibition in Australia, Held Between October 1880 and April 1881. The Local Press Wrote About the Exhibition at the Time, and Highlighted This Cup as a Fine Specimen of Art Work. It is Fully Hallmarked for Lee & Wigfull, Sheffield, 1881. 922g. Stock Code: 2534.
