Georgian, George III, silver galleried inkstand and pen rest. This is a Victorian adaption, formed from a galleried snuffer tray, standing on four orb feet. The pen rest is formed from an ornate pair of silver scissors. The inkstand is hallmarked by Robert Makepeace and Richard Carter, London 1776. The scissor pen rest is hallmarked for Sheffield 1777 by an unknown maker that looks like W&Co. The two silver mounted glass inkwells are both by Hukin and Heath and date to 1876.
