An early Victorian, cut glass, dressing table jar with fine pierced Sterling Silver lid decorated with scrolls, by Thomas Diller. Hall marks to the inside of the lid for London 1840.

Thomas Diller was a respected London Silversmith, located at 1 Richmond Buildings, 80 Dean Street, Soho, London. The business started in c.1828 and had a specialism for the manufacture of intricate box lids.

Provenance: From the Estate of Miss Rachel Anne Monson, Great Grand Daughter of William John Monson, 6th Baron Monson of Burton.
