Description

A fine platinum diamond ring of historical interest. Size: M1/2. Principal diamond sourced from a brooch made by William Batty who became Lord Mayor of Manchester in the 1880s. William Batty and Sons made high quality jewellery and owned several retail jewellers. The diamond cut approx 1880 has been re-set in this more modern mount with respect for the traditional style. Old European cut principal diamond measures 2.6ct with 0.15ct pear shape shoulder diamonds. No visible inclusions under 10x magnification, estimated I/J colour. Hallmarked to band interior.
