Description
A verity good quality 19th Century Victorian burr walnut tantalus and games compendium with gothic brass mounts with mirrored back. Incudes three cut glass decanters with three liqueur or shot glasses. Complete with a set of bone and wood dominoes and wooden chequers or draughts counters.
The lower drawer contains compartments for a pack of cards, counters, dice and crib boards. A secret button opens this drawer. To the lid of the front compartments brass mounted signage saying “cigars” on one side and “cigarettes” on the other.
The decanters are in good condition with a couple of small dints and a small chip to one of the stoppers. The tantalus has some minor age related wear consistent with use.
Working lock and key. Circa 1880
