Description

Rare Near Life Size Black Forest Hand Carved Golden Eagle. The Golden Eagle beautifully carved with exceptional detail throughout perched upon a rocky outcrop with a rounded base. The eagle with menacing talons grasping into the rock while the eagle looks on into the distance about to take flight. The bird carved of walnut with blackened feathers, glass eyes and a large hooked beak. A fantastic example from world famous carvers in Switzerland and a beautiful centre piece for a room with a great talking point. The Golden Eagle dates to the late 19th century circa 1890 and is attributed to one of the Ruef Brothers
