1940s RAF100 Weekend at Hemswell Antique Centres

16 May 2018

Join us for a fun weekend, filled with nostalgia and celebrate the Royal Air Force Centenary at our 1940s RAF100 Weekend on the 21st and 22nd of July 2018. From 10am until 5pm on both days.

Dress to impress in your best 1940s gear - prizes for best dressed. Our pitches will be following a 1940s RAF theme along with a creative BBQ Menu. Sit down with your lunch in the Hemswell Coffee Shop and enjoy music from our vintage vocalist Damaris Jean whilst supping a nice cold Centennial Flight Pale Ale from the Lincolnshire Brewing Company. The 78 DJ will be doing a set for us on Saturday and the The Blitz Dancers will be with us on Sunday. So what are you waiting for? Grab your costumes and fun with us this weekend - you may be wearing a winning outfit.

Are you a keen baker? Enter our RAF Themed Cake Competition and be crowned “Star Baker”! Winner will win High Tea for Two at Hemswell Coffee Shop. Cakes to be auctioned off at the end for RAF100 Appeal Charity. Great raffle prizes with an aviation twist to be won. Raffle and auctions will take place on the Sunday.

Explore the pre-war RAF Hemswell Station for original features, you may even be stood where Richard Todd played Guy Gibson in the 1954 film The Dam Busters.
