A fine quality Victorian inlaid painted mahogany Davenport, circa 1865. Featuring a beautifully inlaid design and a richly patinated mahogany finish. The top section is fitted with a carved galleried stationery two door storage cupboard, complete with its original lock and key for efficient organisation. Sloped light brown leather writing surface. The cupboard to the right of the desk (with a separate key) opens to reveal four drawers with traditional campaign style brass cup handles. When the desk is opened this reveals a further two little drawers ideal for notes and small stationery accessories. Raised on castors unsure if original. The locks could do with some attention. Handcrafted with some age related wear consistent with age and use.
