Annesley Dering Hunsdon Cary 1915-1969).
He trained at the Clapham School of Art 1932-6., and from 1936 began as Art Master at Salesian Colledge, Battersea Park while furthering his artistic development at The Royal College of Art. under Gilbert Spencer and Roland Vivian Pitchforth, his personal inspiration.The outbreak of war had him called up to a Anti Aircraft group, until posted to India i and Burma in 1943., before being de-mobbed in 1946 after several promotions. He kept up his art throughout this period.
In 1946 he became a full-time lecturer at Maidstone College of Art, where his students included Tony Hart (TV presenter). In 1948 he had his first Royal Academy painting hung - "In Sussex". In 1950 he was appointed Head of Art at Sheffield College of Art, in the city in which he resided until his death. His aptitude as a fine administrator served to reduce his artistic output over several decades, although he became involved in the making of several large scale publicly commissioned Murals.
