A fabulous quality antique early 19th century anglo-indian rosewood work or sewing box on stand. Inlaid with ivory stringing and stylised flower petals. A pair of oval panels to each side with pie crust rims. The hinged top opening to a wonderful fitted interior of lidded compartments. Document storage inside the lid, secret drawers beneath the main tray. The top rotating on a heavily turned and carved stem to a tripod base with stylised lions paw feet. The box can be removed from the central column for transportation, to use the work box on a table. Inside the box and beneath the lift out tray is a removable block of wood, it is important to support the box when removing the top, and also when putting the box back on its stand.
