A very good group of four framed antique mid 19th century aquatints. They are from a series by Thomas Rowlandson. They feature a comic character called Dr Syntax from 'The Tours of Dr Syntax'. Each image is titled as follows, Dr Syntax Reading His Tour, Dr Syntax at Liverpool, Dr Syntax in the Glass-House and Dr Syntax at Covent Garden Theatre. Each aquatint is window mounted, glazed and in a modern gilt frame ready for hanging. Two of the frames are very slightly larger. The image size is 12cm high by 20cm wide. Stock Code: 3274.
