A Pair of Merryweather of London Brass and copper fire Hose Nozzels
These are a beautiful pair of of brass and copper fire hose nozzles, one marked Merryweather of London and MS&Co. I bought them from a gentleman who's farther was a joiner for Marshell in Gainsborough, and his father salvaged these nozzles in the 1970s after they had been thrown into a skip.
Marshall, Sons & Co. was a British agricultural machinery manufacturer founded in 1848. The company was based in the Britannia Iron Works, Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. Early production was of steam engines and agricultural machinery. Later production included diesel tractors such as the Field Marshall, Marshalls were heavily involved in producing machinery during WW1and WW2 including tank tracks.
Merryweather Son and Co (MS&Co). Started producing steam fire engines in the mid 1800's and in the early 1900’s they were also producing brass fire helmets and fire hose equipment.
Condition - used and has knocks, scratches and dints you would expect for an item used in fire fighting environment.
