A fine antique 19th century ceramic coffee cup and saucer. The white ground cup is printed in pink tones with an image of a small bird in an apple tree. The saucer with three small birds sitting on a fence. A ring loop handle and gilt hightlights. The base is marked with design name which is Canova. The makers factory mark for Brown Westhead Moore & Co. of Stoke on Trent. It also is marked Copyright Depose, which means it was made for the French market, and was retailed by E. Bourgeois of Paris.
