Contact us about Antique George III Sterling Silver Shell Tea Caddy Spoon

A charming and desirable antique Tea Caddy Spoon dating from the reign of King George III (reigned 1760–1820). The spoon is crafted from hallmarked Sterling Silver (925) and bears a full set of London Assay Hallmarks for the year 1800. Tea caddy spoons were used to measure and scoop loose tea from the caddy, and they are typically small in size. This example features a highly sought after Shell Bowl design, where the bowl is beautifully shaped and detailed to resemble a scallop shell a popular and elegant motif of the period.
