A wonderful and highly collectable antique early 20th century ceramic lustre vase by Pilkington Royal Lancastrian, circa 1910. The vase of twin handled ovoid form with a tapered collar, shape number 2662. Painted with lions rampant between panels of heart shaped red flower heads. The ruby and gold lustre over a royal blue ground. The collar painted with the motto 'Festina Lente' which translates as Make Haste Slowly. Decorated by Gordon Forsyth (1879-1952). The base with painted and impressed marks. Stock Code: 3604.
The white squares on the vase are not damage, they are reflections from the lighting. The vase is of such a high lustre, it is difficult to photograph.
