Fine English country house letter / correspondence box constructed in figured fruitwood with working lock and key. The mother of pearl inlaid lid has two slots that are also labelled in mother of pearl Answered and Unanswered, the top opens to reveal a red lined twin compartment interior. Presented in excellent condition the mother of pearl inlays are all present and complete. The lock works with a satisfying click. The fruitwood shows minimal marking with no splits or cracks. The red Interior shows signs of wear.
