A fabulous original antique Victorian watercolour painting of Culzean Castle in Ayrshire by John Mogford (1821-1885). He exhibited at the Royal Academy. This atmospheric image depicts people collecting shellfish on the rocks with boats in the background on a choppy seashore. The castle is situated high up on a cliff overlooking the ocean. It really is a wonderful painting. It is signed by the artist to the lower left. The reverse with handwritten title information, and a gallery label for Abbey Galleries of Westminster.
