Contact us about Large Victorian Rosewood Jewellery Box with Mother of Pearl Inlay, Working Lock and Key Circa 1880-1900

Victorian Rosewood Jewellery Box Working Lock and Key A very attractive and practical sized Jewellery Box, Circa 1880-1900. Ebony inlays with extensive and intricately inset Mother of Pearl with Pewter banding to the top and front. Lift out tray with a deep storage area below. Brass pin releasing a sprung secret side drawer in the base, pops out to the righthand side. Quality working lock and key, although the key is not original to the box it operates with a very satisfying clunk. Re-lined at some point in its long history with a beautiful plush pale blue velvet which is lovely and clean but showing a little ware to the inner box lids. Overall this is a lovely structurally strong Jewellery Box, the Mother of Pearl inlays are complete, the rosewood is in good condition with light wear commensurate with age and use.
