This stunning Japanese Shodana is a really outstanding example of craftsmanship. We, as dealers, have only found two in the last five years and this one is a real cracker! Circa 1870, this Meiji period piece is profusely carved and reticulated with Katcho ga friezes and galleries featuring, birds, flowers and figures. All in Ivory, mother of Pearl and abalone carved relief. On a brown background with gilded highlights. The asymmetrical design features cupboards, sliding doors, drawers and open shelves for your most treasured possessions to be shown in breathtaking surroundings. All set on a carved open work apron and raised upon a curved carved scrolling base. Of pleasing proportions and with ivory licence QRLPMWP7.
