An original oil painting on canvas by Eric Bellis. It depicts a town or city street scene probably from the 1950's. It shows a row of shops with a church and factory in the background. In the foreground is a horse and cart with people and childreen playing in the street. Eric Bellis was born in 1946 near Liverpool, and studied art at the Wallasey School of Art and Design. He moved to Leeds in the 1980's then emigrated to the US in the 1990's. He exhibited a piece at the Royal Academy summer exhibition of 1992. He continues to work as an artist and musician with a band called the Mekons. The painting is signed lower right 'Bellis' and come in a gilt frame. Stock Code: 3515.
