Contact us about Original WW2 ARP Gas Mask in a Tin

This is an original ARP gas mask in a red tin. The tin was probably made by Reads Ltd of Liverpool, and was intended for Elkes of Uttoxeter a biscuit company. They were repurposed during the war to house gas masks. The hinged lidded tin has a handle and metal clasp for closing. The top has the name of the owner, it is Joseph Smith, 133 Higher Road, Halewood, which is an area on Merseyside. The gas mask was made by L & B.R & co. they were Leyland & Birmingham Rubber Company. It is also stamped Feb 1937. Stock Code: 3543.
