Contact us about Pair of 19th Century Staffordshire Spaniel Dogs
Early 20th century white with red/orange blotches Staffordshire Spaniel Dogs. Hand painted faces. Chain and padlock decoration.
It was very fashionable for pairs of spaniels, also called walley dogs to be placed on the mantle piece of 19th century and early 20th century homes. Spaniels were a favourite due to their connection with English Royal family, especially Queen Victoria. Each pair is hand painted and unique, with a range of facial expressions from happy to ferocious.
They have become very collectable over the years.
