This original, signed oil on canvas portrait by Thomas Arrowsmith (1772-1839) was painted in 1823 and depicts "Hannah Bolton née Harrison". Her hands are gently crossed in her lap against a dark, atmospheric background. The painting is housed in an impressive, heavily carved dark wooden frame with ornate scrolling foliate details and an inner gilded slip. Some loss to canvas at top centre.
