A highly sought-after Shelley tea set designed by Mabel Lucie Attwell, featuring the delightful “Boo Boo” pixie and mushroom-house motif. Set consists of Boo Boo Pixie Creamer, Mushroom House Tea Pot & Mushroom Sugar Bowl. Also included is the book illustrated by Mabel Lucie Attwell, "The Water Babies". This whimsical Art Deco nursery set is one of the most iconic designs produced by Shelley in the 1920s. Perfect condition – no chips, cracks, crazing or restoration and colours remain bright and vibrant. Base marks clearly show Shelley England and Registered Design number (typical for 1920s originals). There is an area on the tea pot handle where the orange paint is missing but this appears to be a part of the original design.
