One of a series of characters from Charles Dicken's Victorian novel from the 1830s.
This series of Dickens character jugs being made around the same period of the London stage play Oliver Twist, and the later film of the same name.
This was an adaption of Charles Dicken's novel based on Victorian hardships in London, England. other characters in the set available.
Kingston Pottery, Hull, England started to trade in the 1960s. They produced large quantities of pottery and ceramics for both at home and for export.
Among these were character, toby jugs, large animal groups and figurines in both earthenware and China.
The character jugs featured colourful characters familiar to people and were often seen in New York taverns and pubs. Kingston Pottery ceased trading in 1985.
