Description
An attractive 18th century mirror dated to around 1780 in the typical Dutch style. The oblong frame of concave form is constructed from walnut with pretty floral marquetry and pressed brass roundels. The aged mirror plate shows appealing signs of distress as expected with age however this does not distract from the use, the plate is not bevel edged, the reverse is board and nail with signs of the old paper liner. The overall condition can be seen in the photographs there is some age related wear as expected with a period antique; there is minor veneer loss but the marquetry is intact with a foxed plate. This is a fine example of an antique Dutch mirror.
