Early 20th Century (1900 - 1930)
The early 20th century was a foundational period for interior design, introducing styles and philosophies that continue to shape modern interiors. This era includes the Arts and Crafts movement, with its fabulous craftsmanship and quality materials and Art Deco of the 1920s. Which brought glamour and elegance, characterised by bold geometric patterns, luxurious materials like marble and brass, and sleek, symmetrical designs that celebrated modernity and opulence. By the 1930s, the Bauhaus movement pushed design even further toward functionality and minimalism, integrating form with function.
