Late 18th Century (1760 - 1800)
The late 18th century (1760–1800) brought a shift toward Neoclassical design, heavily inspired by the art and architecture of ancient Greece and Rome. Popular colour schemes included muted pastels as well as bolder hues like Pompeian red, sage green, and Wedgwood blue, often contrasted with white trim to highlight architectural details. Mahogany and satinwood were common, often embellished with painted or inlaid classical scenes.
