Mid 16th Century (1530 - 1560)

The mid-16th century (1530–1560) greatly influenced interior design with dark, heavy woods like oak and walnut for furniture.Often carved with elaborate details, including floral patterns, mythological scenes, and family crests, to convey prestige and artistry. Ceilings were often coffered or decorated with painted frescoes, reflecting the influence of Italian Renaissance art. This era also saw the introduction of grand fireplaces as focal points, framed with decorative stone or woodwork.
