Rare Letter Sent From A Polish Prisoner in Auschwitz Concentration Camp. The Letter is Dated 17th July 1943 and is From a Waclaw Piotrowski to His Mother Maria in Posen, Poland.
It is Hand Written in German on Printed Paper, and Includes a Translation of the Contents. The Rules at Auschwitz Were That Letters Could Be Written to Family Members, But They Had to be in German, Which Would not Have Been Piotrowski's First Language. It Has a Faint Postmark, But no Stamp, it Was Probably Removed Later.
Another Letter by the Same Person But with a Different Date is in the German Jewish Family Archives at the University of Sussex.
It Would be Interesting to Know What Hapened to Waclaw Piotrowski, did he Survive the War or Not, We Will Probably Never Know.
