Description
The sculptor Giorgio Berlini (1931 - 2017) worked largely in Milan, Italy. After many years helping in the design and production of crystal glass products, he commenced sculpting individual items as works of art. His work has been exhibited extensively. He has produced several variants on the theme of "Sail", one of which was presented by Prince Phillip in 1981 to the New Zealand winner of the Admiral Cup Regatta.
This particular example was chosen from the included Electa Gallery Exhibition Catalogue, and was awarded to the previous owner as a thank you gift for long and valuable service within the gallery.
