Description

19th Century figured walnut mantle clock by Lenzckirch Black Forest Germany. A fine quality case with gilded bronze mounts and finials throughout, also gilded bronze side frets backed with silk. The dial with gilded spandrels, engraved and silvered chapter ring and fast and slow dial. Case and movement of very high quality striking the quarters on two gongs and the hour on one. The movement is stamped 1 million for after circa 1895.

Lenzkirch clocks were of such fine craftsmanship, wonderful ornamentation, and superb "in-house" design that they rank at the top of all German-made regulators.
