Description
An Excellent Vintage 1930's Period Brass Linen Prover. This Instrument Was Used to Count and Keep a Check on the Quality of The Cloth Being Manufactured in Mills by Counting the Threads. It is a Quality Piece of Brass Engineering, and Would Have Been Used by One of the Inspectors in the Mill. It Has a Sliding Scale and Magnifier. The Underside Has Four Very Sharp Pins to Hold the Cloth in Place. It was Made by John Casartelli Ltd an Instrument Maker from Manchester.
