Description
A sculpture of 'the aviator' by Johannes Dommisse, a Belgian sculptor born in 1878.
It shows a gazing pilot, with unusually, a propeller sculpted to the rear. A really fascinating item to look at, mounted on a black and white veined marble base.
Some wear to the forehead where bronzing has worn and to the rear, what looks like a gunshot wound with bronze blood pouring down the neck. I don't quite know how that happened, pretty certain it wasn't intended, but makes is all the more interesting.
