Description
This work, dated 1987, is from one of his regular trips to Italy. Looking from a high view point, the scene surveys the steeply dropping hillside to the bay beyond. The light shimmers, and you can almost feel the heat emanating from the canvas. This painting stand in marked contrast to his nature based pictures, particularly of floral and botanical subjects. The work is mounted on a strong framework, but is not framed in the traditional sense. It makes for a dramatic focal point for any wall. It is signed and dated '87
