Description
Gentlemans Library Mahogany Cylinder Writing Desk. Made by Holland and Sons, the cylinder top is surmounted with an ornate three quarter gilt metal hand chiselled ormolu fret worked gallery, opening to reveal a bank of draws with pigeon hole compartments and a pull out leather inset writing slide with matching side sliding pull out reading panels. All above a large single drawer flanked by two pairs of smaller drawers which are fitted with their original gilt ormolu cast drop handles. Standing on tapering, fluted legs with ormolu gilt decorations applied, terminating on spun ormolu sabots with brass castors of tasteful proportions.
