Description
An impressive quality Neo classical paladian revival satinwood credenza of exhibition quality.
Attributed to Alfred Thomas Wright & Thomas Needham Mansfield, London cabinet makers, they were the preferred cabinet makers to Queen Victoria and similar pieces are in the Royal collection at Osborne House.
Burr wood veneers with boxwood and ebony line inlay to the top and inlays of exotic woods of fine quality depicting griffins and floral decor sprouting from a decorative urn to the doors. Ebonised and gilded Corinthian column decor to the outer doors, with double fronted glazed cabinet to the centre.
A similar cabinet was exhibited at the Paris Exposition in 1867 and at the Philidelphia Centennial, USA.
