Description
An exceptional walnut side table.
A French late 18th/early 19th century side table, made from solid walnut, with oak drawer linings. It is of excellent slender proportions, a top of great colour and wear, with classic cleated ends sat atop 5 perfectly equal drawers. The drawers each with original brass pull handles, with very characterful knocks and dings, again with excellent colour and wear throughout. All raised on 4 solid chamfered legs united by stretchers.
It is of grand proportions at 250cm wide, a great height of 80cm and 47.5cm depth.
I saw a similar smaller example exhibited at the decorative fair a few years ago, it was lovely, but not as good as this. I am quite confident I will never find one as good again.
Condition Report:
The condition is as perfect as you could wish for, solid as a rock. The drawer linings have definitely been replaced, professionally and to a very high standard.
