Description

Rare Staffordshire hand tinted transfer print pottery 1 pint railway commemorative tankard circa 1830/1840. Featuring a train in landscape carrying passengers in period dress that wraps around the tankard hand tinted with reds and greens the engine is called Wooda possibly by Bill and Lawrence. These rare pottery tankard survivors are very hard to find an example can be found in national railway museum collection. There is a historic coloured chip to the bottom rim but overall condition is excellent.
