Description
The canteen is complete and consists of 116 pieces of Sheffield community plate cutlery and is for 12 place settings and housed within 2 drawers as follows.
TOP DRAWER – 12 dinner knives, 12 desert knives, 12 dinner forks, 12 desert forks,
2 serving spoons, 2 part game carving set, 2 part meat carving set,
1 sharpening steel (this is a replacement)
2ND DRAWER - 6 serving spoons, 1 cake knife, 1 cake fork, 12 desert spoons, 12 soup spoons,
12 egg spoons, 12 tea spoons, 1 large ladle, 2 medium ladles.
THE KNIVES HAVE CELLULOID HANDLES
The solid oak canteen table is original to the canteen and has 2 baize lined cock beaded drawers along with classic barley twist legs with oak stretchers and is raised on genuine 1st period fully marked Shephard castors so the table moves smoothly even on carpeted floors.
The table has a very slightly faded top. All handles and locks are original the locks work have a key.
The canteen plate ware shows signs of occasional use and all the celluloid handles are secure and in excellent condition. The sharpening steel is a period replacement.
