Description
A Pair of Victorian Fairground Targets
A good pair of 19th century fairground targets, with collapsing heads. The heads would have been the target, for whatever was used to throw/shoot and they fold back when hit on a hinge mechanism.
They are both hand painted, with numerous marks/chips and degraded paint throughout each item. They have slots underneath so i presume they were originally on moving platforms, but now have removable fitments to the backs so they can be hung for display.
Fascinating and unusual, very decorative.
