Description
An Egyptian Revival Inkwell C1920. This bronze and glass inkwell features the Egptian God' Heryshaf 'which means 'He who is on his lake' he was an important ancient Egyptian God - Known as The Ram Headed Creator God of Fertility & Power, his Rams Head features on the Inkwell Lid and surrounds and either side of the Glass Tray. A very beautiful unique piece, marks on underside state GESCH which means 'Patented' in German so possibly German or Austrian..
